As a software engineer for Baloise, you will reinforce the Business Intelligence team within the ICT department, responsible for developing the reporting landscape within Baloise Insurance.

More specifically, you will look after the developments necessary to meet reporting needs, taking into account established quality, budget and scope requirements, coding guidelines and processes. You’ll be responsible for writing documentations that warrant the preservation of knowledge and monitoring the reliability and continuity of BI applications. In case of defects, you will look for causes, work-arounds and take the lead in finding a definitive solution. We’d love it if you would proactively search for possible improvements and suggest optimizations.


Your skills

You're a self-starter who is fueled by challenge, result-driven and client-oriented, and you value good team spirit. You collaborate with the team on optimizing existing processes and developing new business. You work accurately and can plan carefully.

  • professional bachelor's degree in ICT (software development)
  • experienced in programming, with a working knowledge of C#, MS SQL, Azure and Powershell
  • open to new technologies emerging from Big Data or Cloud Computing
  • excellent organizational skills, result-oriented and not afraid to question the status quo
  • you adhere to established rules and procedures

  • Knowledge of or interest in DWH, XML, Tibco EBX, SOAP UI (pro), Jenkins, Microsoft team foundation server (TFS) and NoSQL database technology
  • Experience working with relational database technology
